Prepare original and tasty Czech cucumbers for the winter – the recipe does not require special culinary skills, it is very simple and uncomplicated.
Cucumbers are topped with onions and carrots, which gives them extra flavor and aroma. They turn out spicy and unusual. In winter, you can taste not only crispy cucumbers, but also carrots and onions. The appetizer will be excellent – you and your guests will like it. These cucumbers go well with any side dish, especially potatoes.
Ingredients:
- Cucumbers – 500 g.
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Sugar – 1.5 tbsp. l.
- Carrots – 40 g.
- Onion – 40 g.
- Bay leaf – 1-2 pcs.
- Black peppercorns – 4-5 pcs.
- Vinegar 9% – 40 ml.
- Garlic – 1 clove.
- Water – 500 g.
How to cook:
1. Rinse the cucumbers well, cut off the tails and check that they are not bitter. Then cut the cucumbers into large pieces – so they fit perfectly into the jar. In addition, when serving, they will not need to be cut for convenience.
2. Prepare jars for seaming – rinse them well with soda and sterilize them in a way convenient for you. You can put it over a pot of boiling water and steam the jars for 3-4 minutes. You can also sterilize the jars in the oven at 150C for about 10 minutes. Put the spices into the prepared cooled jars – a clove of garlic, bay leaves and black peppercorns.
3. Place half of the onion and carrot on the bottom. Pre-cut the onion into half rings, and the carrot into circles.
4. Then distribute the cucumbers in jars, laying them as tightly as possible.
5. Now add the remaining onions and carrots to the jars.
6. Prepare the marinade – boil water, add sugar, salt, stir so that all the crystals are completely dissolved. Pour in 9% vinegar and stir, immediately remove from heat.
7. Pour boiling marinade over cucumbers, filling to the top. Then put them to be sterilized. Pour warm water into the pan, put a piece of cloth on the bottom, place a jar of cucumbers and when the water in the pan boils, sterilize the cucumbers for 10 minutes.
8. Then take out the jars and roll up the lids, put the jars with the lids down – check for leaks. Then insulate the roll with a blanket for a couple of hours, let it cool.
9. Put the cooled jars of cucumbers in the pantry – where it is cool and dark.
