Crispy puff sticks with cheese and spices are a great snack, snack, and also a budget replacement for chips and crackers. You can cook a lot of them in just a few minutes. With spices in this recipe, you can experiment endlessly, choosing the perfect composition or changing it for a change.
Ingredients:
- Puff pastry – 500 g.
- Cheese – 200 g.
- White sesame – 1 tbsp. l.
- Flax seeds – 1 tbsp. l.
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Ground black pepper – ½ tsp.
- Ground red pepper – ½ tsp.
- Ground sweet paprika – 1 tsp
- Dried basil – 1 tsp
- Dried rosemary – 1 tsp
- Egg – 1 pc.
Cooking time: 45 minutes. Servings Per Container: 5-6.
Cooking:
1. You can choose any cheese for puff sticks with spices: Russian, suluguni, parmesan, mozzarella, gouda, cheddar. Depending on the variety chosen, the taste and aroma of the snack will change. It should be chopped on a medium grater.
2. Add all the spices and seasonings to the cheese.
The amount of spices and seasonings can be adjusted, depending on taste preferences.
Separately, you can add salt, if necessary.
3. Mix everything. The filling for puff pastry is ready.
4. Puff pastry should be at room temperature. It needs to be rolled out on parchment in the form of a thin rectangular cake. The thickness of the dough should be 2-3 mm. Beat the egg with a fork and brush generously on the cake.
5. Spread half of the cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla.
6. Cover with a second layer of parchment or cling film on top. Roll out the dough lightly so that the filling is imprinted into the cake. Fold the rectangle in three layers.
7. Re-roll the dough as thin as possible. Brush with egg and spread over remaining filling.
8. Again cover with parchment and roll out, pressing the filling. Cut the cake into strips 1 cm wide and 15-20 cm long.
9. Fold the strips into spirals. It should be noted that you can fold in different ways: leaving the filling inside or outside.
10. Arrange puff sticks with cheese and spices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until golden brown.
