Rossoli salad is a delicious dish that is easy and simple to prepare, since in fact it is enough to chop all the ingredients, add mayonnaise to them and mix.
This salad tastes a bit like a fur coat, even the ingredients are almost the same. By the way, in the classic version, an apple is also added to the salad, it was not used in this recipe. When choosing cucumbers, the choice can be stopped on fresh or salted. Herring will suit the one you are used to buying. Of course, it is more convenient to buy herring fillet in a jar, so you won’t have to spend time cleaning it. To reduce the cooking time of the salad, it is worth baking the beets in the oven in advance, and boil the carrots with potatoes and eggs. For dressing, it is better to use mayonnaise, any fat content is suitable.
It is desirable to serve the Rossoli salad after all the products become the same in temperature. To do this, after its preparation, you need to put it in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.
- Herring – 200 g.
- Young potatoes – 100-150 g.
- Carrots – 30-50 g.
- Egg – 4 pcs.
- Beets – 60-80 g.
- Fresh cucumber – 1 pc.
- Onion – 0.5 pcs.
- Mayonnaise – 10 g.
How to cook:
1. Finely chop the onion.
2. Transfer the cubes to a bowl. Pour in water and the same amount of vinegar. Add a pinch of salt and sugar.
By the way, it’s worth pickling, only an ordinary onion, but purple doesn’t need such a procedure.
3. Cut boiled potatoes.
4. Now do the same procedure with boiled chicken eggs.
5. Cut the carrots as small as possible, or you can grate it.
6. Chop fresh or pickled cucumber as well.
7. Carefully open a can of herring. Remove the fillet immediately to the board, and then cut it.
8. Peel and cut the baked beets.
9. Put everything in a deep bowl. Send the pickled onion there.
10. Lay out the mayonnaise. You can use sour cream instead if you like.
11. Stir the unusual Rossoli salad. Put it in a beautiful glass bowl. Serve to the table.
