There is a unique express method to ferment cabbage in two days. It differs not only in simplicity, but most importantly in convenience, since the vegetable is fermented not in a glass jar, but in an ordinary bag, although a bag with a zipper can also be used.
For the preparation of snacks, you should use white cabbage and carrots. Apart from these vegetables, nothing else is required. Of the spices, only salt and sugar will be needed. No special marinade needs to be prepared, the cabbage will ferment in its own juice.
- Cabbage – ¼ head by weight 500 g.
- Carrot – 1 pc.
- Salt – 0.5 tbsp. l.
- Sugar – 0.5 tbsp. l.
How to cook:
1. Wash the head of cabbage under running water. If the top leaves are damaged or slightly wilted, then be sure to remove them.
Shred the cabbage into thin strips. To do this, use a special device for cutting cabbage or a food processor with the desired nozzle.
2. Peel the carrots and grate on a regular grater.
3. Put the cabbage and carrots in a regular bag (it should be tight). Add salt.
4. Add sugar there.
5. After that, mix all the vegetables with salt and sugar in it well with your hands.
6. Now just tie the bag tightly by making a knot on it.
7. Leave the bag of vegetables in the kitchen at room temperature for a day, and on the second put it in the refrigerator, be sure to mix all the vegetables well again right in the bag (without untying it). By the way, after 3-4 hours, cabbage with carrots will release juice and vegetables will ferment in it.
