Many people love dumplings with different fillings, and this time we decided to cook dumplings stuffed with cottage cheese and potatoes. It turned out unusual, but very tasty.
Prepare the ingredients according to the list. It is desirable to take cottage cheese with a fat content of 9-18%, ideally homemade, but store-bought is also suitable.
Ingredients:
- Cottage cheese with a fat content of 9% – 150-180 g.
- Peeled potatoes – 250 g.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l.
- Salt – to taste.
- Wheat flour – 300 g.
- Milk – 160 g.
- Salt – 1/3 tsp.
- Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
- Butter for serving – to taste.
How to cook:
1. Pour warm milk into a bowl, break the egg and add salt and vegetable oil. We mix everything well. Pour the sifted flour in parts and knead a smooth dough first in a bowl, and then continue kneading already on the table.
2. Cover the finished dough with a film and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
3. Cut a medium-sized onion into small cubes and lightly fry in refined vegetable oil until browned.
4. Mash potatoes boiled in salted water in a mashed potatoes, transfer to a container and let cool. We also put cottage cheese and fried onions here.
5. Mix all the ingredients for the filling, taste for salt and adjust to your liking.
6. Roll out the pieces of dough into flagella and cut into small balls.
7. Roll the balls of dough in flour, roll into round thin cakes and put the prepared filling in the middle.
8. We connect the edges of the cakes in the usual way or with a “string”.
9. Dip dumplings with cottage cheese and potatoes in boiling salted water. As soon as they emerge, cook for a couple of minutes over medium heat until cooked.
10. We take out the dumplings with a slotted spoon, put them in a heated bowl, add the butter. Mix carefully.
When serving, pour over dumplings with cottage cheese and potatoes with additional melted butter. Separately, you can serve sour cream or any favorite sauce to taste.
