No hostess can do without preparations for the winter. Most often these are pickles and jams. Jam is the most versatile dessert, because it can be served as an independent dish, as well as added to various pastries and other delicacies. Not a single season in many families is complete without jam, which is made from pears.
In principle, for the preparation of pear jam, you can use any kind of fruit, but we offer the Forest Beauty variety. This pear has an incredible aroma and sweetness, as if it is half honey. It is not at all difficult to cook such jam, the only drawback is that it is cooked for a long time. But, in winter, this minus turns into a huge plus, when you open the very first jar.
- Pears – 350-400 g.
- Sugar – 400 g.
How to cook:
1. Carefully sort through all the pears and rinse under running water. Since these fruits very often fall from the tree themselves, cut off all the places where they hit the ground.
Next, cut the pears into fairly thin slices, they should be almost transparent. If you cut into thick pieces, then the pears may not be cooked to the desired consistency, and will be hard. Put pear slices in a container convenient for cooking.
2. Pour sugar and put on the smallest fire.
3. At first, stir the jam often with a wooden spoon. Then cover the container with jam tightly with a lid and let it boil slowly. In total, pear jam must be cooked from 30 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, the pears will darken significantly, the pieces will look and taste like candied fruits, and the syrup in which they are located will look like fresh liquid honey.
Jam can be served immediately after cooling.
If you want to store it until winter, then put it in pre-sterilized jars and roll them up with lids. It is necessary to store such jam in a cool place, and put an open jar in the refrigerator.
Enjoy your meal!
