Dumplings on sour cream in Ukrainian always turn out very tasty, and cooking them is not at all difficult. For cooking, it is better to use premium flour. Sour cream is suitable with absolutely any percentage of fat content. It is advisable to serve ready-made dumplings to the table immediately after preparation. Since they come with boiled potatoes, you do not need to cook anything extra.
By the way, as an option, in addition to onions, you can add fried pieces of bacon with meat to ready-made dumplings. So the dish will come out even more satisfying and tasty. Also, if you want, you can make some kind of salad in addition to dumplings.
- Potatoes – 350-400 g.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Egg – 1 pc.
- Sour cream – 80 g.
- Water – 80 ml.
- Vegetable oil – 30 ml.
- Salt – 5-6 pinches.
- Flour – 250-350 g.
How to cook:
1. Peel potatoes. Be sure to cut each into several parts, so it will cook faster. Fill it with water.
It is better to take purified water, filtered or spring.
2. Put sour cream in a bowl, beat in a chicken egg there. Add a pinch of salt.
3. Pour in water.
4. Mix everything with a whisk. Pour in the flour.
5. Knead the dough.
Keep in mind, if there is not enough flour, then feel free to add more. The dough should not stick to your hands.
6. Roll it into a sausage. Cut into pieces. It is more convenient to do this procedure with the help of a special kitchen plastic device, but the most ordinary knife will do.
7. Chop the onion and fry it in a pan. You can use not only vegetable oil for frying, but also butter.
8. Boil dumplings in water. Be sure to add salt to the water. So ready-made dumplings will not be insipid in taste.
9. Now put the finished boiled dumplings in a large bowl, then the potatoes.
10. Throw in the fried onions as well. If you wish, you can add much more. It all depends on your taste preferences.
11. Mix everything. Arrange dumplings on sour cream in Ukrainian style in beautiful bowls. Serve them to the table. If you wish, then you can serve them with homemade sour cream or some other sauce.
